Overcoming

How do we grow in God’s power to overcome temptation and sin? In Luke 4, we see the example of Jesus: God’s Word, prayer, and fasting. The "Spirit of God led Jesus into the wilderness" where He fasted, prayed, and defeated the temptations of the devil in the power of God’s Word with three verses from the Book of Deuteronomy. Luke tells us that Jesus "returned from the wilderness in the power of the Spirit.”

The Power Of Bible Study

There was a worldwide study of 100+K people over eight years. Research found that believers who engaged in Bible study one day/week made little or no difference in the life of the person. Two to three days/week made a small, but mostly indiscernible, change. But 4+ days/week produced life-changing transformation! Here are some of the results:

- 407% more likely to memorize Scripture.

- 59% less likely to view porn and 62% less likely to drink excessively.

- 30-31% less likely to feel lonely and discouraged.

- 31% less likely to lash out in anger.

- 14% less likely to struggle with anxiety.

- 218-416% more likely to give to their church and be generous toward others.

- 231% more likely to boldly share their faith and disciple others.

You will begin to overcome temptation and sin when your life is filled and consumed with the Overcomer! Jesus is the Overcomer.
